A Weekend with Dwight A. Pryor

Dwight A. Pryor is the President and Founder of the Center for Judaic- Christian Studies (Dayton, Ohio). He is one of the most well known and respected presenters in the area of Hebraic studies, and teaches with outstanding insight and depth. His many years of association with Jewish and Christian scholars in Israel provide him with fresh new insights into the life, language and teachings of Jesus. He has authored many articles and produced over forty audio and video teaching series on a wide range of Biblical subjects, all examined from a Hebraic point of view.

En-Gedi Pastor's Breakfast: Behold the Man!
Thursday, April 11, 2002

En-Gedi sponsors a breakfast series for pastors and seminarians with the goal of exploring the cultural background of the Bible and sharing it with congregations. We intend this as a way that they can discuss the implications of the Jewish culture on biblical interpretation and how to introduce people to the culture of Jesus. The breakfast will be from 7:30 to 9 AM at Holland Heights Christian Reformed Church, 836 East 8th St, Holland, MI.

If you are a pastor, pastoral intern, or are in seminary and would like to attend, please email us at egrc@egrc.net, or contact us at (616) 355-2200 to register beforehand.

Dwight will give a presentation entitled Behold the Man!:

For twenty centuries Christians have related to Jesus primarily as risen Lord and Savior and as the transcendent second person of the Godhead. What would it mean to our faith and ministries if we were to take equally seriously "the Man," Jesus of Nazareth? Looking through first-century Jewish eyes, Dwight will help us to behold anew the Man, His Mission and His Message. (See the article Behold the Man on the En-Gedi articles page.)

Note: Because of this special opportunity, we have arranged that for those who are able to stay, a longer discussion session will follow from 9:15 to 10:15 AM.

Shabbat Dinner with Dwight & Keren Pryor
Friday, April 12, 2002

This will be a lovely, traditional Shabbat (Sabbath) dinner with Dwight Pryor and his wife Keren on Friday, April 12th at 6:30 PM. If you have never experienced this tradition, you are in for a great treat! The Jewish Shabbat starts at sundown on Friday each week, and this is a wonderful family time. The mother lights candles and blesses God for the bread and wine, the family sings songs, and the man and wife bless each other and all of their children. Dwight and Keren will explain some of the rich spiritual beauty of this tradition. It will be a formal, worshipful evening, so please dress appropriately.

Location: Christ Memorial Church 595 Graafschap Rd. Holland, MI 49423
